How long do photo magnets last?
On an indoor fridge, a well-made photo magnet can keep its colour for years. Sun, water, and heat are what shorten that.

A photo magnet is a print plus a magnet. Indoors, on a fridge, out of direct sun, colour can last years. That is the honest answer Craftigure gives — not a numbered warranty we do not print on the box.
This page is about environment, not about inventing a decade guarantee.
What “years” actually means
Kitchen light is not the same as a south-facing window with the magnet in the beam. Ordinary indoor use — opening the fridge, a glance while you make coffee — is what these pieces are for.
If a magnet lives in a sun patch every afternoon, expect faster fade. That is paper and dye, not a defect unique to magnets.
What shortens the life
- Direct sun on the print
- Water: dishwasher, soaking in the sink, a wet cloth left on the face
- Heat: oven door, radiator, car dashboard in summer
- Outdoors: rain, freeze, UV. These are indoor magnets.
Craftigure magnets are not car magnets, mailbox magnets, or outdoor signage.
The magnet vs the photo
The backing can still stick after the print has faded. “Lasts” usually means the picture still looks like the picture. If the magnet loses grip, it is often a dirty fridge surface or a very thin door, not a calendar date.

Gifts that stay on the door
That is the point of a fridge magnet as a gift. It is not archival museum storage. It is a daily object. Treat it like a small print you like, not like a bumper sticker.

- What Photo Resolution Do You Need for a 2×3 Magnet?A 2×3 magnet is a small print. You need enough pixels to crop and still look sharp on the fridge — not a billboard file.
